A Barcelona airport transfer looks simple until you add a baby seat, six suitcases or a flight that lands at midnight. This guide helps you choose between a taxi, a ride-hailing car and a pre-booked private transfer, and tells you what to ask before you confirm. The company lists above hold the data. Here is how we would use it.

Airport transfer companies in Barcelona

We list 47 companies. Barcelona has 26 of them, El Prat de Llobregat 7, Badalona 5, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat 3 and Cornellà de Llobregat 2. Companies based in El Prat are minutes from the terminals. That does not make them better, but it can shorten a pick-up when a flight is early.

Among the 47, none states a fleet size on its own website and 10 mention PMR-adapted vehicles, so ask about wheelchair access instead of assuming. Seat counts named on websites run from 3 to 84, which means the same page covers a car for two and a coach for a group.

The Google categories are worth a glance. "Taxi service" firms usually run vans and 7 to 9 seat cars, while "Limousine service" and "Chauffeur service" firms sell a fixed-price pick-up in a higher class of car, and "Bus charter" firms add minibuses and coaches.

Private transfers from Barcelona airport

A private transfer means a driver is assigned to you, usually with your name on a sign or on an app, and the price is agreed before you fly. These are the three things that make the arrival smooth.

  1. Flight number. The company can track delays and does not leave you waiting.
  2. Terminal. Barcelona has T1 and T2, and the meeting point differs.
  3. Luggage and passengers. A van for 7 is not the same as a van for 7 with 7 large cases.

For the route into the city, see our guide to Barcelona airport to the city centre, and if you are going to a ship, the cruise port transfer page.

Our shortlist

Each pick below answers a different need and uses only the listed data.

  • CarBooking in L'Hospitalet is the top-ranked company: 5 stars over 191 reviews and categorised as an airport shuttle service.
  • TransferS GROUP (5 stars, 100 reviews) is open 24 hours according to Google and its website is in Spanish, English and Russian.
  • Royal Falcon Limo has the most reviews of the top ten (541, rated 4.8), is open 24 hours and says on its website it has operated since 2019. Its website is in English.
  • Barcelona in Motion names vehicles from cars to coaches (seat counts 7, 12 and 16), is open 24 hours and publishes in Spanish and English.
  • Blinktransfers offers the widest website languages in the top 25: Spanish, Catalan, English, German and Russian.
  • Taxi Barcelona 7 Plazas has the most reviews in the group (2,175, rated 4.7) and says it has operated since 1985. Its seat counts are 6 to 9.
  • Barcelona Lands names seat counts from 4 up to 70, useful when one company must cover a mixed group.

Taxi, VTC or private transfer?

Option Best for Price logic
Taxi One to four people, no booking Metered, regulated tariff
VTC (app ride) Cashless, fixed price in the app Set by the app
Private transfer Families, groups, early or late flights Quoted in advance
Minibus or van 5 to 16 passengers Quoted in advance, see minibus hire

For taxis, the Barcelona metropolitan area publishes a regulated tariff. The Institut Metropolità del Taxi's 2026 taxi tariffs list a flag fall of 2.80 euro, 1.35 euro per km on weekdays from 8:00 to 20:00 and 1.66 euro per km at night, on Saturdays and holidays, a waiting charge of 27.75 euro per hour, an airport supplement of 4.60 euro, a supplement of 4.60 euro for vehicles carrying 5 to 8 passengers, and a minimum fare of 21.00 euro from the airport including all supplements. Those are taxi figures; private transfers are priced by each company.

Where do you meet the driver?

For a ride-hailing car or a VTC, Aena's page on vehicles for hire lists a VTC meeting point at the T1 car park, floor -1. It also lists separate stops for Uber, Cabify and Bolt at both terminals, mostly on floor 0. A private company will tell you its own arrangement, such as a sign at arrivals. Ask for it in writing and for a driver phone number before you fly.

If your group lands at one terminal and a friend at the other, Aena runs a free transport between terminals that operates 24 hours a day. It takes about 10 minutes from T1 to T2 B or C and about 14 minutes from T2 to T1. Agreeing one meeting point is usually easier than two.

What to ask before you book

  • Is the price fixed in euros, including tolls, parking and VAT?
  • How long will the driver wait after landing, and is that free?
  • Is a child seat available, and how many can you fit?
  • What happens if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
  • Who is the operator, and is there a phone number I can reach at the airport?
  • Can I pay by card, and when?

Red flags

  • A price that does not depend on your passenger count.
  • A driver who arrives unnamed, with no booking reference.
  • Payment requested to a personal account or by gift card.
  • A vehicle described without a seat count or luggage space.

Other airport and group routes

If you travel in a larger party, a charter bus may be better than three taxis. For a single traveller who wants a named driver, see chauffeur service or limo hire. When you are ready, use the quote form and tell us your terminal, flight number, passengers and luggage. For how we order the companies, see how we rank.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a transfer from Barcelona airport to the city centre?
A private transfer is priced by each company, so request quotes. For a taxi, the 2026 Institut Metropolità del Taxi tariff has a 2.80 euro flag fall, an airport supplement of 4.60 euro and a minimum fare of 21.00 euro from the airport. The meter decides the rest.
How can I get a transfer from Barcelona airport to my hotel?
Pre-book a private transfer with the company, giving your hotel address, flight number and terminal. The driver tracks your arrival and meets you. You can also take a taxi or a VTC (ride-hailing car) from the airport. Our airport to city centre guide compares all the options.
Is there a free shuttle from Barcelona airport?
Aena runs a free shuttle between terminals T1 and T2, 24 hours a day. It does not go to the city. For a ride into Barcelona you need a taxi, a VTC, public transport, the Aerobús or a pre-booked private transfer from one of the companies listed on this page.
Where do I meet my driver at Barcelona airport?
It depends on the company and terminal. Aena's page for vehicles for hire lists a VTC meeting point on T1 car park floor -1, and ride-hailing apps have their own stops. Ask your company for the exact meeting point and a phone number before you fly.
Which is better at Barcelona airport, a private transfer or a taxi?
A taxi is simple if you arrive alone with light luggage. A private transfer suits families, groups, baby seats and late arrivals, because the vehicle and the price are agreed in advance. For more than four passengers, ask for a van or minibus.
